Dancers at Saundra Lee's Take classes in tap, ballet, jazz, hip hop and acrobatics, and as they progress, they may also take pointe and modern classes. Dancers may take recreational-level classes, which meet once a week. Starlet Dance Company is our competitive dance group. This group performs regularly at shows and competitions throughout the season. Dancers wear black leotards, pink or black tights, & appropriate dance shoes.
CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Pre-dance - creative movement Ages 3-4, 30 minute class, 1/week, $35/month Monday 6 - 6:30 pm OR Saturday 9:45 - 10:15 am
This class is for the young dancer to learn the basics of dance through creative movement, song and dance, stretching, and acrobatics. Dancers learn to participate in dance class in a fun and energetic way. Pre-dancers perform one piece in the Christmas benefit and one piece in the Spring Recital.
Beginner 1 Combination Class - tap, pre-ballet & acrobatics Ages 4-6, 45 minute class, 1/week, $40/month Monday 5:15 - 6:00 pm OR 6:30 - 7:15 pm OR Saturday 9:00 - 9:45 am
Beginner 2 Combination Class - tap, pre-ballet & acrobatics Ages 5-7, 1 hour class, 1/week, $45/month Monday 6:00- 7:00 pm OR Saturday 9:00 - 10:00 am
These classes teach dancers the basics of these dance disciplines in a fast-paced and creative way. Dancers may take B1 or 2 for one or two seasons, depending on individual progress. B1 & 2 dancers perform one piece in the Christmas benefit and one piece in the Spring Recital.
Elementary 1 Combination Class - tap, ballet, jazz & acrobatics Ages 6 - 9, 1 hr. 15 min. class, 1/week, $55/month Monday 7:00 - 8:15 pm
Elementary 2 Combination Class - tap, ballet, jazz & acrobatics Ages 7 - 10, 1 hr. 30 min. class, 1/week, $60/month Mondays 7:15 - 8:45 pm
These classes review and reinforce the basics of dance, with more focus on the technique of each dance discipline. At this level, dancers are introduced to more complicated steps, patterns and rhythms. Dancers may take E1 or 2 for one or 2 seasons, depending upon individual progress. E1 & 2 dancers perform one piece in the Christmas benefit and two pieces in the Spring Recital. Dancers in E1 & 2 are eligible to take E1 & 2 Hip Hop. E2 dancers are also eligible to participate in the Performance Troupe Apprentice Program. This program is by invitation only, based on the individual achievement.
Elementary 1 & 2 Hip Hop 30 minute class, 1/week, tuition + $10 Saturday 10:00 - 10:30 am
Hip Hop is a fun and energetic dance class based on video-style jazz dance. All of the music and movement are strictly age appropriate. Dancers perform one piece in the Spring Recital.
Teen Jazz & Ballet Age 11+, 1 hr. 30 min. class, 1/week, $60/month Hip Hop also available for additional $10/month
Adult Classes 6 week sessions in various styles, $30-$50/session
Starlet Dance Company Intermediate and advanced level dance classes are offered through Company. Dancers at each level take a selected course of dance classes based on their individual achievement. Non-Company members may take classes at the Company level after placement has been determined by teaching staff. Individual classes will be charged at the hourly rates.
Junior - dancers ages 8-12, 4 hours/week Classes in tap, ballet, jazz, hip hop, acrobatics & production class
Junior Advanced - dancers ages 10-14, 7 hours/week Classes in tap, ballet, jazz, hip hop, acrobatics, modern and production class
Senior - dancers age 12 +, 11 hours/week Classes in tap, ballet, jazz, hip hop, acrobatics, modern, pointe & production class
Senior Advanced - dancers age 14+, 12 hours/week Classes in tap, ballet, jazz, hip hop, acrobatics, modern, pointe & production class |
